About Melissa Coltman
Melissa Coltman, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, is a board-certified nurse practitioner who enjoys caring for patients in Allen and McKinney, Texas, and the surrounding communities. At RescueMD, Melissa is proud to partner with patients to help them achieve their health care goals.
Melissa moved to Texas during her high school years. She earned a BSN from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX. Shortly after graduation, she married her college sweetheart. They moved to Dallas, where she began her nursing career at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, caring for patients in the medical ICU.
As a teenager, she met a nurse practitioner who greatly influenced her trajectory. After eight years of working as a bedside nurse in the ICU, PACU, and ER, she graduated from Texas Woman's University with her MSN.
Melissa has spent the last six years working as a nurse practitioner in the field of cardiology. She is known for listening to her patients with attention and compassion. She aims to empower them to achieve their personal health care goals. Melissa is excited to join the team at RescueMD.
Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband and sons. She enjoys being outdoors, reading, cooking, and finding out what she can grow in her garden.
